World Cup of Biathlon
The Biathlon World Cup is a distinguished yearly event that highlights the exhilarating fusion of rifle shooting and cross-country skiing. Since its debut in the 1977–78 season for men and the 1982–83 season for women, this event, which is organized by the International Biathlon Union (IBU), has enthralled spectators.
Structure and Format
The World Cup season usually lasts from November to March and consists of a number of competitions hosted at different locations throughout Europe. Points are given to athletes according to where they finish in individual events, sprints, pursuits, and relays. Smaller globes are given for accomplishments unique to a discipline, while the Big Crystal Globe is given to the athlete with the best total score at the end of the season.

The 2024–2025 season got underway. beginning in Kontiolahti, Finland, on November 30, 2024, and ending in Oslo Holmenkollen on March 23, 2025. Highlights of this season include the Biathlon World Championships in February 2025 in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, which will take place at 10 different venues.
