Why should we take a daily walk?

Walking is for those who cannot perform a high intensity workout on a daily basis. As it is one of the most effective habits to incorporate into one’s daily life for a boost in mental and physical health. Often overlooked in favor of high-intensity workouts, daily walks actually provide a more holistic approach to health and well-being, catering to people of all ages and fitness levels.
Firstly, from a physical standpoint, walking helps maintain a healthy weight, strengthens muscles, and improves cardiovascular health. According to the National Institutes of Health walking leads to short-term gains such as improved body composition, blood pressure and lipid profiles. Furthermore, as it is a low-impact activity, it is ideal for those who have joint issues or are recovering from injuries.
Going further, the benefits of walking go beyond only physical. Walking has a substantial impact
on mental health. The constant movement and exposure to fresh air or greenery has been proven to reduce stress, alleviate symptoms of mental health disorder such as anxiety or depression and improve one’s mood significantly.
